The Guinness Book of World Records lists Jon Brower Minnoch as the heaviest man in medical history in its 2012 edition.
Minnoch, who had been morbidly obese throughout his childhood, was born in 1941 in Bainbridge Island, Wash. As the heaviest human being ever recorded, he died in 1983, shortly before his 42nd birthday.
